What does a typical session look like? Therapy looks a little different for everyone — and that’s how it should be. In general, sessions are about 45–55 minutes long, and might include: Talking through current concerns Processing emotions or memories Practicing new coping skills Engaging in play or creative work (especially for younger clients) Exploring thought patterns and beliefs Building awareness and self-compassion Some sessions feel light, others feel deep. Sometimes there are tears, and sometimes there’s laughter. We create a space where all of it is welcome, and where healing can unfold in a way that feels natural.
Do you offer virtual therapy? Yes, we offer secure telehealth sessions to clients across South Dakota, North Dakota and Minnesota using a HIPAA-compliant video platform. Virtual therapy is a great option if: You live in a rural area or are far from our offices Your schedule makes in-person visits difficult You feel more comfortable connecting from home Some services (like play therapy for young children) may work better in person, but we’ll help you determine what’s best for your needs. We can also accommodate hybrid options when appropriate.
Can I come in just for parenting support? Absolutely — and we encourage it. You don’t have to wait for a crisis to get support. We often work with parents and caregivers who: Feel disconnected or overwhelmed Are navigating behavioral challenges at home Need tools for transitions like school, divorce, or a new sibling Want to strengthen their relationship with their child or teen Simply want to check in and grow with intention Parenting support can look like: One-on-one sessions with a therapist Co-regulation strategies Coaching for behavior and communication Emotional support and space to breathe We believe that when caregivers are supported, kids thrive. Whether you’re parenting a toddler or a teen, you matter — and your wellness matters too.
